Sumbul Touqeer’s father Touqeer Khan‘s all set to make Bollywood debut

Actor Touqeer Khan is back on screen after a break, and will be seen in a
Bollywood film soon. The actor, who is actress Sumbul Touqeer’s father
and has been seen in shows such as Crime Patrol, will he part of the
film Mumbai Score, directed by Alok Shukla and produced by Shuktha
production house.

“This is my Bollywood debut. Before this, I had done Crime Patrol and a
few serials, but this is my first proper film. When I came to Mumbai, I
started working in acting through Crime Patrol just to survive because
we didn’t have much money. Later, when Saniya and Sumbul began getting
steady work, I quit acting to manage their schedules. Handling both of
them, especially when their shoots were at different places or at the
same time, took up all my time. Now that they’re both independent and
told me, “Papa, now it’s your time to start again,” I decided to give
acting another shot,” he says.

He adds, “The film is currently being shot in Nalasopara, where an
entire slum area has been recreated for the shoot. I play the role of a
local MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) who goes to people asking for
votes. The film also touches upon the serious issue of drug addiction
among youth in that area.”

Meanwhile, he says that he feels proud when he sees Sumbul’s journey. “I
feel extremely proud and emotional seeing Sumbul’s growth. She is not
only a brilliant actor but also so loved by her fans. Watching her
journey unfold so beautifully fills me with happiness. Not every parent
gets to witness such success and recognition for their child, so I truly
feel blessed,” he says.

However, ask him if he wants to share the screen with her, and he says,
“Honestly, no. I would never want to play Sumbul’s father on screen.
She’s such a powerful actress that I would feel completely overshadowed
next to her. I genuinely believe she’s so talented that I wouldn’t be
able to match her energy or presence on screen.”

As for more work, he says, “I definitely want to take up more acting
assignments. I feel my look suits negative characters, so I’m open to
playing villains. I also enjoy comic roles, so ideally, I’d like to work
in either the negative or comedy genre — both excite me equally.”

In fact, he will be resuming choreography too. “I actually came to
Mumbai as a choreographer and even won a dance reality show back in the
day.

Many of my students have performed on platforms like DID and
India’s Dancing Superstar. So I feel it’s time to restart choreography
along with acting. Now that my kids are managing themselves, I can
finally focus on my own passions again and give them the time they
deserve,” he says.

Popular Bollywood actress Nikki Tamboli who’s earned a loyal legion of fan following for herself with top-notch & bosting quality of consistent & diligent work has come up with something truly special.

The spellbinding & alluring artiste who has earlier single-handedly been the reason behind the magnanimous success of various music videos is currently winning applause and appreciation for her new music video ‘Bheegne De’ with the biggest music label in the country, T-Series. While Nikki’s incredible screen presence and unmatchable looks is in itself enough to get fans hooked into the screen, what makes all her fans immensely happy is that it also stars actor Arbaz Patel in the same. The song was released on 11th June, 2025 and so far, it has crossed more than a massive 4 million viewership that speaks volumes and truckloads about Nikki’s credibility as an actress. In the video, we see Nikki Tamboli engrossed in her acting with perfection and finesse and no wonder, internet has fallen in love with it. Regarding the song, Nikki shares,

“I have always been enthralled with the idea and concept of music videos as no other form tells exquisite & pulchritudinous stories in a crisp and short manner with a musical treat to it. I thoroughly enjoy being a part of music videos just like I enjoy working in all other mediums. I was always confident that the song will serve as the perfect ‘feel of love and romance’ this season and now with more than 4 million viewership across and love pouring in from all corners of the world, I can safely say that I was right. A lot of hard work & toil has gone behind it from my end and I feel so grateful that my incredible audience have showered and inundated me with love & blessings. My gratitude to one and all and I hope the song keeps reaching to more and more people globally.”

With constant successful projects one after the other, Nikki Tamboli has certainly proven with class and mettle that she’s truly a force to reckon with and an ultimate ‘hit machine’ amongst the leading young generation of performing artistes in this country.

While actress Shivangi Verma has finally opened up on allegations put on her by veteran Govind Namdev. A picture of the two of them sparked dating rumours, and while the actress has always refuted these baseless rumours, a recent remark by Govind has left her shocked. The latter has blamed her for planting the picture to gain publicity.

“I was shocked when I read Govindji’s reaction. A normal post was done with his consent and he accepted the collaboration request and deleted it on his own,” she says.

She adds, “I, as a professional actress, deserve dignity too just because he is a veteran character actor he can’t accuse me. What will I get by gaining publicity out of such a matter.”

Clarifying her current situation, she says, “I am paired opposite a known star in an upcoming project and I am looking at young pairings. I have clarified twice in the past, once in December and once in May, and I want to clarify once and for all, that the dating rumours are baseless. It seems social media has become a platform like Bigg Boss. I am doing two important projects and am focused on my career.”

New Delhi, 16th June,
2025:
The
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has observed that a large number
of spam complaints are made by the customers against the business entities from
whom the consumers have earlier purchased goods or services. On investigation, such
business entities often claim that they possess the consent of the consumer for
receiving commercial calls and messages.

Under the regulatory framework defined
by the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations
(TCCCPR), 2018, an entity can make commercial communications to a consumer
irrespective of his/her Do Not Disturb (DND) preferences provided the entity
has taken explicit consent from the consumer. However, in many cases, these
consents were collected through offline or unverifiable means, making it
extremely difficult to ascertain their validity and genuineness. In several
instances, consumers report that their mobile numbers have been acquired by the
entities for this purpose through misrepresentation, deception, or unauthorized
data-sharing practices.

TRAI has undertaken several innovative
regulatory measures in recent years to curb such practices. These include
allowing consumers to register complaints against unregistered telemarketers
(UTMs) even without prior DND registration, and initiating large-scale
disconnection of telecom resources being misused by the entities for spamming
activities. However, verification of consent for commercial communication citing
offline consent of consumer, remains a formidable challenge.

To address the issue, the
regulations provide for acquiring consent digitally by the entities and
registering them in a secure and interoperable digital consent registry
maintained by the Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) for easy verification of
consents while commercial communication is made to the consumers. However, for
successful operation of this consent registration framework, onboarding of
entities sending commercial communications is a necessary requirement.

Accordingly, to begin the
national roll-out, TRAI has launched a Pilot Project in coordination with the
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) involving select banks and has issued a Direction on
13th June, 2025, to all the Telecom Service Providers, mandating
them to pilot this framework in collaboration with banks. Given the sensitivity
of banking transactions and cases of financial frauds through spam calls, the
banking sector has been prioritized for the first phase of implementation. This
Pilot, running under a Regulatory Sandbox framework, will validate the
operational, technical, and regulatory aspects of the enhanced Consent
Registration Function (CRF) and lay the foundation for sector-wise scaling of
the digital consent ecosystem.

TRAI remains committed to
safeguarding consumer interest and enhancing trust in legitimate commercial
communications. The Authority will continue to work with sectoral regulators
and stakeholders to ensure that the ecosystem evolves towards more secure,
transparent, and consumer-centric practices.

1. Chhal Kapat The Deception (Hindi)-(ZEE5)

Directed by Ajay Bhuyan, this series revolves around a seemingly joyous wedding in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, that takes a dark turn when Shalu, a social media influencer, is found dead under suspicious circumstances in a pool. What initially appears to be a suicide quickly unravels into a complex murder investigation.

The talented Shriya Pilgaonkar leads the cast as SP Devika Rathore, a cynical yet brilliant cop with a haunted past of her own. As she delves into the case, she unearths a tangled web of secrets, hidden betrayals, and shocking truths among the wedding guests, where every individual becomes a potential suspect. The series also features an ensemble cast including Kamya Ahlawat, Ragini Dwivedi, Anuj Sachdeva, and Tuhina Das, each with their own motives and secrets.

2. Ela Veezha Poonchira (Malayalam) – (Amazon Prime Video)

From Shahi Kabir, the genius behind the chilling scripts of “Joseph” and “Nayattu,” comes “Ela Veezha Poonchira” – a film that doesn’t just tell a story, it wraps you in an oppressive silence. Ascend to a remote, desolate hilltop, where the wind whispers secrets and a heinous crime shatters the desolate peace. Here, police officers, including Soubin Shahir, Sudhi Koppa, and Jude Anthany Joseph, are forced to confront a macabre mystery, their relentless pursuit of truth amplified by a landscape that feels almost alive with menace. Every shadow in this critically acclaimed film, the first Malayalam production in Dolby Vision 4K HDR, promises a new threat, immersing you so deeply that you’ll feel the unforgiving chill of the air and the relentless pounding of your own heart.

3. Drishyam (Hindi) – (Jio Hotstar)

Imagine a man, ordinary in every way, who becomes the architect of an impossible deception to protect his family. This is the heart of “Drishyam,” the 2015 thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat, marveling at the ingenuity of Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn). When an accidental crime threatens to shatter his world, Vijay constructs an alibi so brilliant, so meticulously performed by his family, that it launches a taut cat-and-mouse game against the relentless Inspector General Meera Deshmukh (Tabu). But the story doesn’t end there. “Drishyam 2” revisits the Salgaonkar family seven years later, the ghost of their past reignited by new evidence and the shrewd, determined Inspector General (Akshaye Khanna) reopening the case. Now, Vijay must weave even more intricate layers of manipulation, risking everything to shield his loved ones from the truth, leaving you to wonder: how far would you go to protect yourself?

4. Agnyathavasi (Kannada) -(ZEE5)

Imagine the relentless drum of rain on ancient tiles, the scent of damp earth clinging to the air, and a secret buried so deep within the mist-shrouded Malenadu region of Karnataka that it’s almost forgotten. Then, a rural murder rips open the fragile veneer of peace, dragging you into a late 1990s world where guilt, forgiveness, and concealed truths tangle in a chilling dance. Director Janardhan Chikkanna, with a masterful hand, weaves a narrative that feels less like a film and more like a haunting memory. Though its final act might leave you wanting, the journey, with stellar performances from Rangayana Raghu and Paavana Gowda, is a suffocating embrace of dread and atmosphere that will linger long after the screen goes dark.

5. Ittefaq (Hindi) – (Netflix)

Directed by Abhay Chopra, the 2017 neo-noir mystery thriller Ittefaq throws you into a perplexing night where two murder suspects, Vikram (Sidharth Malhotra) and Maya (Sonakshi Sinha), recount vastly different versions of the same chilling events. As Inspector Dev (Akshaye Khanna) meticulously untangles their conflicting narratives, the film masterfully employs the Rashomon effect, leaving you to question whose truth is real and whose is a carefully constructed lie. This gripping whodunit keeps you guessing until the very end, proving that sometimes, coincidence is just a clever disguise for something far more sinister.

In a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary fashion, renowned designer Archana Kochhar has unveiled a reimagined collection of Gollabhama sarees for the 72nd Miss World pageant, currently underway in Telangana. This initiative not only showcases India’s rich textile heritage but also aligns with the pageant’s ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ ethos, celebrating cultural diversity and craftsmanship.

Originating from Siddipet in Telangana, Gollabhama sarees are distinguished by their intricate motifs depicting milkmaids, known as ‘Gollabhama’ in the local language. These motifs are meticulously woven into the fabric, a testament to the skill and dedication of the weavers. The sarees have earned the Geographical Indication (GI) tag and were recognized by UNESCO as an iconic textile craft of India, highlighting their cultural and artistic significance.

Kochhar’s collection transforms these traditional weaves into ensembles fit for the global stage. Styled by Archana Kochhar, the Gollabhama sarees are expertly woven by the weavers of Telangana which are paired with her signature lehengas and blouses crafted from Telangana’s traditional pattu fabric. By integrating contemporary design elements with the classic Gollabhama weaves, she has created ensembles that exude regal elegance while retaining their comforting charm. Each piece remains true to its roots, offering both authenticity and modern appeal.

“The Gollabhama saree stands as a radiant emblem of India’s vibrant weaving heritage,” said Archana Kochhar. “By showcasing these masterpieces on the grand Miss World stage, we celebrate the skill and dedication of the Siddipet artisans, inviting the world to witness and cherish their extraordinary craftsmanship.”

This collection not only pays homage to the weavers’ legacy but also contributes to the revival of a craft that has seen dwindling numbers in recent years. By spotlighting Gollabhama sarees on an international platform—styled with lehengas and blouses made from Telangana’s pattu fabric, also woven by the state’s skilled artisans—Kochhar hopes to inspire renewed interest and support for the artisans behind these masterpieces.

conducted through the collaboration of IIM Raipur and the Chhattisgarh
Department of Good Governance, was a successful initiative where cabinet
members were introduced to relevant topics that will help in running the
government more efficiently. The topics chosen and the speakers were
remarkable, and their teachings will greatly support us in achieving the vision
of Viksit Bharat@2047.”

Prof.
Ram Kumar Kakani, Director, IIM Raipur, said, “We are honored to facilitate
this exchange of ideas among policymakers and thought leaders. Chintan Shivir
2.0 is a reflection of our belief that academic institutions must go beyond
classrooms and actively engage in real-world governance and leadership
challenges. This platform not only fosters collaborative thinking between
policymakers and scholars but also aligns with our larger mission of creating
evidence-based, inclusive, and future-ready public systems. We are proud to
